Developed in collaboration with PA Consulting and in alignment with the Bottle Collective, which includes PulPac, this marks Diageo’s inaugural trial of a paper-based 70cl bottle in the on-trade sector. The trial commences tomorrow and aims to evaluate bartenders’ interactions with the bottle, including pouring techniques and overall performance in a bar setting. A total of 250 paper-based bottles will be utilized, with the trial projected to continue until mid-October. CK Snacks Purchases Competitor Axium Foods in Nationwide Transaction US salty snack manufacturer CK Snacks has successfully acquired local competitor Axium Foods for an undisclosed amount. Additionally, the company manufactures Horlicks chocolate malt drinks for markets in the UK, Ireland, and continental Europe, while Unilever manages the brand’s distribution in Asia, particularly in India and Bangladesh. Wierzejki, one of Poland’s largest meat manufacturers, recently enhanced its production capabilities by installing a new Ishida multihead weigher. This strategic investment has significantly increased the company’s throughput while packing its new dumpling range, leading to an impressive payback period of approximately 18 months. The Ishida CCW-RVE-214W-1S-30-WP model has effectively replaced a labor-intensive, manual packing process. Previously, this operation required a team of six workers to pack the necessary 1.2 tonnes of dumplings per hour. This innovative product introduction comes nearly two years after Cathedral City redefined plant-based cheese alternatives with its initial ‘Our Plant Based’ offering. Remarkably, the brand has experienced a growth of 65% in the last year, culminating in a remarkable RSV of £9.1 million. Smokey flavor reigns supreme in the plant-based market.
